It is naivety like this on the part of Armenian Christians that led to the complete wipeout of millions of Christians in Turkey. True, anything that has to do with govt should never have a religious colouration. Govt must be secular especially if we are living in a state that is populated by two different religions. The govt should engage with secular organizations and bring about meaningful development. Any relationship we have with any Islamic nation should be a bilateral one and should end there. Any multilatera islamicl association is however a no no.

The Constitution of Nigeria defines Nigeria as a secular state. Therefore, Nigerian Governments ideally should have no activity in or membership of religious associations. Religion is a private and social matter, not a governmental or political matter. People like you probably support the government sponsorship of Christian and Muslim pilgrimages. This is very wrong. Government should have nothing to do with financing pilgrimages. Neither should the nation as a corporate entity enter into any religious association or organization.
