I am going to start this thread, aiming to provide some basic knowledge who are newbie and want to learn Quran Kareem. As we know, Quran is revealed in Arabic Language. To get understanding, you have to learn basic Arabic Alphabets. The basic Islamic book which guide you is known as Noorani Qaida. After reading this great book, you are able to pronounce the Arabic letters and words in proper tajweed rules. It consisting of 16 lessons, each lesson is important for better understanding in reading of Quran. I suggest you this website page:http://myquranteaching.com/noorani-qaida-for-the-beginners/. A good explanation has been given.

Cool! Though I'm a christian, I've always been eager to learn more about Islam other than the fact that if you don't accept it you'll b killed or that women are viewed almost as slaves (I'm still not sure if I should believe them).

That's great, Islam Is simply total submission to the wills of our maker, and the Quran is the manual for life..and I commend the effort the innovation of this thread

We are encouraging you to learn more about Islam. It is peaceful religion and discouraging killing of human being. In Quran 5:32
Sahih International
"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors." (Qur'an Surah 5 Ayat 32)
