Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has just approved an increase in the take-off grant of Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State from N2bn earlier announced, to N5bn.

The President also approved an immediate release of N1bn to the new Maritime University, to support essential infrastructure works and staff recruitment.

The approval by the President is coming at the time the University has commenced operations, inviting job applications for academic staff.

The immediate release of N1bn to the new Maritime University is separate from the N5bn allocated in the 2018 budget submitted to the National Assembly.
