Water is very essential to the body, as it does a lot to our system. If this is so, then it is important to take the right type of water in, which is considerably free of germs and chemicals such as chlorine in other to avoid health complications. The issues of how to purify your water at home without using chlorine therefore is an issue to consider carefully


The use of chlorine has been in place for a long time now, but the truth is these chemicals kill germs quite all right. But does not make it safe to drink?

These chemicals are quite toxic to the human body which causes all kinds of internal problems.Chlorine destroys fatty acid and vitamin E, in the body. It also goes ahead to destroy the friendly bacteria that aid digestion, and which protects the body from harmful pathogens. Aside the side effects of these chemicals, what about the days we find ourselves in emergencies, like in the desert, or in a place we can’t get hold of chlorine or any other chemicals.

It is important the gain the knowledge of other methods. There are several other ways by which you can purify your water at home without using chlorine.

Some of which include:


• Boiling.

Boiling is a great way to kill bacteria from your water, no bacteria can stand the boiling point. Research has also shown that warm water is good for our health, therefore boiling does not only kill bacteria but is also good for our health. You can boil your water in a clean pot, and then leave to cool. That way its ready for drinking.



• Filteration.

To keep your water clean, you could make your own water filter, suitable for your use and for proper filteration of your water before drinking. This will help remove dirts, odour and debris from your water. There are various types of filters such as the commercial filter, the whole home filter, also the counter top filter.



• Clay pot draining.

This is a traditional way of purifying drinking water, which can be adopted in our modern world. This method could be slow, but very effective. All you need to do is to get a clay pot, place it somewhere a little high, with a container underneath to receive the water that drips from the pot. With this method the water is safe for drinking.



• The sun

The solar radiation from the sun has been proven to purify water among several other methods and make it safe to drink. It is also recommended that to do this, it is better to fill water in pet bottles, and leave in the sun for about 6 hours. If the sky is cloudy, then 6 hours will not be enough, it could require 2 days in this case. The bottle must not be coloured, rather should be transparent. If the water is cloudy or dirty, then the water should be filtered first. Also it is important to note that the bottle to be used must be thoroughly clean.


All these listed above are natural ways to purify your water at home without using chlorine before use. It is time to avoid such chemicals in our water and drink from a trusted source. Water is life!
