Pfn Blasts Gadaffi Over Call For Nigeria’s Split by Nobody: 10:36am On Mar 22, 2010 |
PORT HARCOURT—THE Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has described as unfortunate Libyan leader, Col. Muammar Gaddafi ’s call for break-up of Nigeria along religious lines. Speaking in Port Harcourt to mark his 48th birthday, President of Rivers State chapter of the PFN, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, said the call by the Libyan President was unacceptable to both Christians in the north and southern part of the country. He said Christians would continue to take steps to promote national unity. “Gaddafi’s comment is one of the most unfortunate statements we have heard from the President of a country on another country. Nigeria is a country that should not be divided. Gaddafi ’s statement is not acceptable to both the Christians in the north and south, ” Aggrey said. Aggrey said he had to drop the idea of a lavish birthday party because of the massacre of over 500 Christians in Jos. He said: “ I had wanted to celebrate my birthday in a lavish form but events between January to date in the country have not been palatable. Imagine burying 400 people in a mass grave in one day. “I thank God for being alive. But I am mourning with the people of Plateau state. We have never seen this level of man inhumanity to man. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/03/22/pfn-blasts-gadaffi-over-call-for-nigerias-split/ |
