We should as well look for consultants to run the presidency. I really wonder what your brain is made of.

I hate to quote you as I know you derive joy from being quoted but I feel you need help.
i wonder o! i thought they were voted in and Appointed to fix the Economy but they are consulting the malaysians. perharps nigerians should have voted and elected the malays from the start, Does it now means that the malays knows more About nigerias Economy than our Appointed and elected Gorverment?
so nigerians have wasted all that time voting and electing the president only for the president to consult the malays on nigerias Economy?.

So FG has run out of ideas. Upon all the professional Nigerians who can do this job. Anyway I don't blame them. Nigerians are a docile bunch. When the president should be resigning for such a stupid decision in sane countries. Later they will say they can't fund budget, yet spending money on useless things. Why do you then have a CBN governor, if he can't make these decisions?

Wow!Wow!! Wow!!!...It took this Administation 3years and 5 months to admit that they are not competent enough to stir the ship of this country back to recovery....Well, there is nothing wrong in lacking expertise but taking such a long time to take active step is a waste of our time....

Does it mean with all the universities and Professors in this zoo we don't have erudite economists or professionals to do this?. Is Nigeria this brainless.

When we employ expatriates in the technology sector i thought it was cos of the need for technologies we lack here. So it goes beyond that.

Anything to bring stability and development to an almost collapsed economy is a welcome development.

Particularly this hyper -inflation the country is currently facing is really eating deep negatively into the income of average Nigerians.

Oga, you are in a different Nigeria where Buhari’s CHAIN-ge has not impacted. grin
Otherwise you should have felt the reduction in inflation for nine months. grin grin

Truth234:
The continuous effort of the Federal Government to rein in on consumer prices has started yielding results.

The Consumer Price Index, which measures inflation rate rose 15.91 percent year-on-year in October, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) report released on Wednesday. This was lower than the 15.98 percent recorded in September and represents the ninth consecutive decline in the headline inflation.

Also, while average yearly inflation number for the first five months of the year stood at 17.45 percent, average headline inflation from June to October 2017 improved to 16.01 percent. Indicating that pace of price increase is gradually slowing down in relation to the fairly stable foreign exchange market.

On a monthly basis, inflation surged 0.76 percent in October, also 0.02 percent better than the 0.78 percent recorded in September. Making it the fifth consecutive month-on-month inflation headline is contracting.

However, despite the noticeable improvement in the headline inflation, the Food Index surged by 20.31 percent year-on-year in October, down slightly by 0.01 percent when compared to the 20.32 percent recorded in September.

Still, this is high and has continued to erode consumers’ buying power, especially when the average price of the first five months (18.67%) of the year is compared with the June-October average of 20.22 percent. Meaning, headline inflation is merely aided by the surged in forex liquidity due to rising global oil prices.

In April, the Federal Government had introduced series of forex policy to rein in on high foreign exchange and better stimulate the economy. While the Investors and Exporters forex window has been helpful in easing economic gridlock it has failed to curb rising food prices.

The Federal Government released its 2018 proposed budget of N8.6 trillion in November, saying the budget would consolidate on previous accomplishments.

The Naira remained fairly stable against the US dollar, trading around N363 per dollar.

project which has reportedly been in the making for over 40 years.

40 years?

Under the worthless PDP and their 16 years of looting and stealing and largest earnings in the history of Nigeria, this could have been done in less than 5 years without borrowing 1 kobo.

Thank God we know have competent and credible people in power today.

God bless Nigeria.

since the useless president has useless advisers, he should get rid of the useless people & use the money to pay the foreign consultants...
You should understand that nigeria CANNOT fund the project at over $5.7bn hence it had to get a loan from the Chinese. Now, the Chinese will not give you cash per we like the western countries and the stifle you with interest and fees which will put you in perpetual servitude, rather they will handle the job themselves for that amount. It's a win win situation because the funds will not be looted by our politicians because due to non involvement of cash and the Chinese are experts in Dam construction as well as doing it for a reasonable cost. As to why local contractors are not being used? Simple, this project is very complex and require very high level of expertise. It's not road, airport or even a bridge that anyone can do. The risks of not building a Dam properly can have huge environmental effects, one which we will not recover from

The most foolish animal is the ostrich, even God confirms it 's sense is taken away from him. He buries the young ones in the ground to be crushed the same way he buries his head when being pursued leaving his entire body outside. Go to heaven and bring consultants, wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse. Yes ; the bible said that. An unbalanced pot will continue to be a nightmare to the cook, spills, wounds, burns, food waste e.t.c. A foolish cook will continue hoping that his nightmare will miraculously stop,he might even hire consultants to advise him on how to eliminate food waste as he buys time just like the ostrich. The wise cook on the other hand solves the problem once and for all by addressing the issue of pot balance and every other thing will follow. Without restructuring and true federalism, the circle continues.

They said the economic downtrend was as a result of oil low prices, now that oil price is increasing, they remember the need serviced of experts.

Next, they will ask Nigerians to give them another term to implement the outcome of this dubious scheme.
