How am I foolish? what the craaap you talking about, Qatar Airlines ahah, why will I fly Qatar Airline from the US or from Europe?
Three Major Airline who are Bigger than Qatar and Turkish Airline put together, KLM, Lufthansa and Air France all Land in PHC daily 365 days of the year Even christmas day, We talking Major Airline you talking about Airline that fly to Bush market, craap Airline at that.Imagine Turkish Airline from JFK to Nigeria, waht Rubishhh, ggrow up, and you are lazy too, simple google would have pointed you to ships/vessels in Onne as we speak!

I don't know why these people are so allergic to the truth. sad Anyway, I don't blame them, I blame those who bought these small-small boys chinko phones and cheap data. They sit in one corner of their rooms in Awka or Aba and recycle propaganda about how the airports in the SE and SS are not working, or how they have been deprived of seaports in the SS. Meanwhile, many of them don't even know the way to the airport.....

What you are saying is true....yoruba and housa have destroyed this country with there shered greed..i call it the after meant of the civil war...well they won the war and they are simply sharing the benefits.

There is something you don't understand and I'm going to explain it to you.

A business man import his goods through a seaport in the east, it took him over 3months to clear his goods while he has cleared and even ordered for another one through Lagos seaport.

Now tell me, will you want to import through the one that takes you over 3months to one clear your goods?

You should ask yourself if those seaport you mentioned are working and why are they not working?

Does Port-harcourt not have a seaport? What about Calabar? What about Onne? Even Onitsha is being given a river port as we speak. Warri and Sapele also have river ports. So what grammar are you talking here?

Are the Ports operational ? No. In Rivers start there are two sea ports, one in Onne and the other in port Harcourt main town in Delta state there are two sea ports one in Warri the other in koko, in Calabar we have another sea Port, but still successive governments will not make them operational.

I keep saying Lagos been what it is today is because of the sea ports and the international airport, elementary social studies taught us that when setting up a business you should consider access to transportation, Lagos has both the sea and air. That's is why a lot of the businesss are sited in Lagos.

But if the federal government could decentralise the sea port and make the others operational then you will see the massive development taking place in other regions and Lagos will be less populated. And there will be more jobs

R u sure people will relocate? Some of us working here want to even run back to Lagos at d slightest opportunity. Now let me tell u something for a place like onne/eleme to develop rapidly dey need to work on the security issues, u need to see d how people move out of dis area to port Harcourt, kidnapping and robbery na usual news 4 there even d indigene r also running out. U really need to see d population of people coming in n out of d port on a daily basis n guess what ? 80% don live where they r working.lets assume dat people working in onne port r living in onne/eleme d area 4 don develop n d port itself 4 don even expand cos people will be rushing into d town. Personally i think d security issues should be addressed before u can see meaningful changes.

Nigeria must be recognised and allowed to progress on the existing 36 States Structure, as Self- Procurement, Productivity, Costs and Incomes Self-reliance States. So the F.G can function as Coordinating Liaison Relations on External Affairs and Control of The Military for Specialisation.
The States will take care of their Internal Security, Police, Elections for L.Gs, Own State Assemblies, National Assemblies, Own Governors and National President.

Oga, go back and read through this entire thread. Out of all the ports you mentioned, Onne seaport and Port-harcourt port, are functional. Please stop the long epistles. Importers who have used those ports have come on this board, to confirm it. sad

Calabar and Warri need to be dredged, which is why they are not operational. Now that Amaechi an SS/SE man is the transport minister, everything about the ports falls within his brief. Tell him to correct the situation. undecided Kema Chikwe and Ojo Maduekwe were Ministers of Transport who had enough time and powers to correct the situation with the ports in your region. Did they do it? No. But your people will never blame them or hold them accountable for their failures.

Please stop blaming Lagos sea ports for the lack of development in other regions! There is an international airport in Port-harcourt and another in Enugu, which record international flights daily! So where do you get your stories from??! shocked

The hate and hold him down syndrome is what is killing this country. Igbo adage says "onye ji mmadu na ani ji onwe ya" meaning" he who holds someone on the ground is also held on the ground".

Let the leaders and their praise singers liberate Lagos by opening up other states and you will see Lagos indigenes and yorubas enjoy the state. But as far as they continue to support injustice against others and want every thing development brought to Lagos, then, it will get worse.

Nobody is holding down other states, or stopping them from developing. sad The problem is that most of the states have a record of electing clueless leaders who lack the vision, intellect and purpose, to develop their states.

Look at Akwa Ibom, when they elected Akpabio. undecided He did not start lamenting about how Lagos underdeveloped his state. He rolled up his sleeves and set to work. By the time he left, his state had a world class stadium, an airport, good road infrastructure etc. Same thing happened when Duke got to Calabar. wink

Lagos had also been lucky to get visionary leaders like Fashola, Ambode etc with a passion to develop the state, and execute plans to improve its infrastructure.

Until the people within your state do the same, by electing visionary capable leaders, and holding such leaders accountable for the development of their state, progress will not be made. And you will keep blaming Lagos for your woes!

Working how ? I live I. Port Harcourt and I tell those sea Ports are not working compared to the traffic in Lagos, and I never begged you to read my epistle, by the way how many airlines operate in Enugu and port Harcourt airports, you just come to run your mouth, ok since your change group came on board what are they doing to see that all you mentioned above are put in place.

This is not an Amaechi agenda, this issues are bigger than him, it has to come from the President and he must have the political will to do it.

By the you talk of international flights been recorded daily at these airports, do you work there, I fly from these airports and it only air France and I wonder if they still operate.

Dats becos Lagos is d centre of attraction... International airport, wharf and ports, import routes, U name it... Every single thing in dis country goes thru lag. Some naturally it became a magnet for ppl... Ppl left d rural areas for d dream of d big city Lagos.. Abuja helped to some extent to reduce d pressure but abuja doesn't offer half d opportunities Lagos offers
thats not entirely true. Nigeria is just loop sided and tilted in favour of 2 groups

Guy, listen to yourself. sad People who have imported goods through Port-harcourt seaport and Onne, have come out to state that they received goods through those ports. Someone who even works right within Onne port, has also confirmed the port is working. undecided

Newspaper articles from the internet to show that cargo is being imported daily through Onne, was also attached to some posts, on this thread. undecided Even another doubting Thomas like you that had earlier claimed Onne was not working, posted a newspaper article to show that Onne was working, but the port charges were expensive, compared to Lagos. Go back and check.

But you ignored all those facts, to come here and start claiming that none of the seaports in your region are working. Now you are also claiming that at the international airport in Port-harcourt, only Air France is working. Is Air France a local airline? Others said they have flown KLM from that same airport, maybe you didn't see it. Instead of you to admit that the airport is working, and Onne is functional, you are pretending not to notice. sad Traffic at Onne will not improve, if your people refuse to use the place. You chaps are just fixated on Lagos ports.

If Amaechi who is from the SS, cannot resolve the issue of the seaports or improve their performance, he should resign. No be by force. Let someone else who knows what to do, get there and carry out the job. undecided
