Because Jesus resurrected on the first day of the week and the early church gathered on the first day of the week in celebration and remembrance of the resurrection. This is evident throughout the book of Acts ( 1 Cor. 16:2 and Acts 20:7). He is not. The only difference between Judaism and Christianity is that they don't believe in Jesus Christ, only in God and they follow the laws of Moses, while we follow the laws of Jesus Christ.

Read Joshua 10:12-14 and you will know why.

The reason is simple and that because after Joshua suspended the sun and the moon for 24hrs in order to win a battle, a day was minus; the calendar was altered as a result and Sabbath then fall on on a Sunday.

"On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:

“Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day." Joshua 10:12-13

Imagine Joshua made that statement on a Friday because he didn't want to fight on a Sabbath day (Saturday) in order to keep it holy. So those going to church on a Sunday are actually the one keeping the Sabbath day and not those on a Saturday if you do the math.
