6 farmers beheaded by Boko Haram members.
Six farmers have been beheaded by Boko Haram sect at Dimge plantation, in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The massacre happened on Sunday while the innocent victims were working on their farms, an eye-witness, Jiddah Ahmad, disclosed to NAN in Jere town, close to Maiduguri, on Monday.

Ahmad, the younger brother of one of the deceased, revealed that the terrorists had kidnapped seven farmers and consequently butchered six of those kidnapped, in a nearby bush.

Ahmad added that two of the killed farmers hailed from Lawanti Gongulon Village, in Jere, while the rest four were from Masu Community in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno.

“My brother was working in the farm together with other farmers. They were accosted by the insurgents when they went to fetch water at a river.

“The insurgents shot my brother before beheading him and beheaded another farmer on the same spot while an old farmer was set free,” Ahmad said.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Usman Muhammad, also told NAN that the insurgents had earlier slaughtered four other farmers at the same plantation.

Muhammad disclosed that the insurgents came to the farm on motorbikes and attacked the farmers.

He said the insurgents forced an aged farmer among the abductees to witness the brutal murder of other farmers, nd told him to convey the message to families of the victims.

“We are currently seeking clearance from the military authorities, to enable us evacuate the corpses for proper burial,” he said.

The military and police authorities have declined to make any statement on the latest killings.

Although military authorities said that they have completely degraded Boko Haram, the group continues to unleash terror and pack bloody punches on a regular basis.

The North East remains a hotbed of the insurgency, just as other cities, including Abuja and Lokoja, have not been spared.
