I got my own mtn sim card from my dad in nov 2003 at the rate of #15k, and since then i av used up to 6 sim card due to loss of my handset.

I but my Motorola Iridium back then for 180,000 and Thuraya for 85000. Boy, how things changes, had to get my Multilinks for 50,000 before MTN n Econet bailed us out

Can't remember, but i know that my first sim was used for a pay service.
First personal sim (not pay phone) was during the launch of Glo and her instalmental payments.
Second one was MTN: Paid N5K for a customised number
Third one: Etisalat: Paid N5k also for a customised number

I bought my Econet sim card for 20k in 2002 and in 2005 i lost my phone and retrieve my line and i was given a vodacom sim card because they've just switched owners and i am still using the sim card till date,

Bought my Econet Buddie for =N=30,000 in August 2010

Meehn, I bought mine at the rate of 10K, thinking the price would go up. It was Econet Buddie at trade fair (can u imagine?) That was 2003.

My first sim was Mtn in 2003 bought it 13.5k and two weeks later became 6.5k. I've not paid the bal till date. We had problems with the dealer asking me to pay up after the price went down. My fone Samsung R220 was 13k and my Mtel line was 6k in 2004 with 2.5k credit. and amonth later was sold for 2.5k. Imagine me! I bought that Mtel 3 times but they neva lasted 2 months each.

@ topic: 20K, bought it when MTN was milking Nigerians like hell. . . . come to think of it, they still do.

for the family own, it cost 6,500naira it was 9,500naira, in June 2003 with 20k 3310 lol . BUT MINE PERSONAL OWN COST 250naira, October 2006

I bought my MTN line N18,500 in 2002.

Then MTN used to tell nigerians that it is impossible for any network to configure per seconds billing. Per minute or a second call used to cost N50.

GLO came and proved them wrong. Nigerians protested. They were forced to adjust.(MTN-ole, parawo, onye ohi)

All in all, this is the power of deregulation. this can happen in oil and gas if the program is sincerely implemented.
