Flat Earth Theorist To Launch Home-Made Rocket Today

“Mad” Mike Hughes is set to launch his home-made rocket today to prove that the earth is flat. Flat earth theorist believe that there is a conspiracy theory by mainstream science to deceive the people that the earth is flat. “I don’t believe in science,” he told The Associated Press. “I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust. But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. There’s no difference between science and science fiction.”

His latest rocket is built with scrap metal and a stripped down motor home for the ramp. It cost him about $20, 000 and powered by steam. He expects to 1.6 kilometers up from where he hopes to take pictures to prove that the earth is flat . The launch is expected to take place at Mojave Desert, subjected to speeds of up to 800 kilometers per hour (500 miles per hour) according to IFL website.

This is not the first time he is building a rocket and attempting to photograph a supposedly flat earth. When Hughes launched in 2014, the intense gravitational forces and what looked like a parachute with holes injured him quite badly; he needed three days to recover.

His latest attempt will take place this Saturday 25th November 2017. It is scheduled 2-3pm local time.
