The 35-year-old had kept his bizarre eating habits to himself but surgeons found 263 coins, 100 nails and dozens of razor blades.
Maksud Khan was rushed into surgery at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, with severe abdominal pains.
Dr Priyank Sharma, who led the surgical team, said: ‘The patient was complaining of stomach pain,
‘We were shocked to discover coins, nails and nut-bolts in his stomach.’
He said it was the first time he had seen anything like it in his career.

Mr Khan’s family think he began to eat metal objects after developing depression but said he did not inform anyone of his bizarre
eating habits.

Doctors said Mr Khan worked as a driver and would often swallow coins given to him by customers. He had been complaining of stomach pains for three months.
