Federal Government of Nigeria urged the Community of Economic of West Africa States, ECOWAS Court in Abuja to dismiss a fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The statement noted that Kanu having been bailed, escaped from from his ongoing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the judgment of the ECOWAS Court on the suit would serve no purpose.
