Infiniti envisaged a possible airbag problem in its QX30, and this is prompting the company to recall certain units of this automobile. There is fear that the airbags may deploy at random, even without any external force prompting such deployment, which can inflict injury on the driver and also increase the risk of an auto crash.

The company made a call for a recall despite the fact that no incident of a random deployment in the airbag has been reported yet.

While describing the defect, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), wrote that “The combination of an electrostatic discharge to a broken steering column-module clock spring, and an insufficient grounding to the steering column, might lead to an inadvertent deployment of the airbag.    

Up to 17,507 units of the Infiniti QX30 will be affected by the recall; the affected automobiles are those manufactured between August 10, 2015, and June 16, 2017. The owners of these automobiles will be contacted from December 18th by Nissan.

The only infinity I ever admired was FX-45, mhen that design paid nidsan off. The predecessors are just wack joor. Never used a Nissan once so I have little knowledge about their performance

It's obvious that 90% of the interior design was stolen from Mercedes Benz. From the steering to the armrest to the entertainment screen control button (knob) to the mirror adjuster to the seat adjuster to the driver dashboard screen to the headlight control, etc.

Take the Fiat 124 Spyder for instance. It’s sold by Fiat but made by Mazda in Japan. Or the Buick Cascada. It’s made in Poland, albeit by Opel (a Buick sister division).

The latest such mishmash is a bit more unusual in that it comes from a premium/luxury brand, Infiniti.

For years mainstream automakers have shared platforms and powertrains mainly as a cost saving measure. But high-end brands tend to avoid too much sharing of major components with rivals because it goes against the purist image they aim to project.
