mu2sa2: Lol is that why the herders are wailing and threatening lawsuits. When commercial ranches fill void in beef demand the herdsmen will be forever irrelevant. The consumers will benefit from higher beef and milk production. The state will get higher tax revenue on state and local level. 1 Like |

BruncleZuma: It's a lot of investment. The small guys won't afford it. Again, land tenure system puts them in tight situation. Ranch is not cheap. They need large expanse of land to allow grazed area to fallow. Also, water source in the North is scare, even human can't afford borehole water. Then, there is parameter fencing , structures etc to deal with. |

BruncleZuma:Yes. Sure they are cutting corners to feed their cows cheap, at the detriment of others. Their government would need to be really involved. Individually, it's not feasible. |

BruncleZuma: We know they are agents. But the focus here is on the feasibility of ranch with respect to Northern Nigeria environment, available infrastructure, land and capital. |

When you hear someone in that exalted position talk like this you know he places very little value if at all any on human life. May be I am wrong. Perhaps he has a way of keeping the peace between farmers and herdsmen. But what is wrong with or why the fear of ranching? |

mu2sa2: Bros you are totally wrong! Nobody said they should not herd their vattkr again! We are saying set up ranches!!!! The Fulani herdsmen have caused so much harm to Nigerian citizens! I was a victim of their horror too! Go and research well, they have so much to gain by setting up ranches! The nomadic system makes their cow to produce very low milk! Go to Kenya their cattle produce as much as 20 ltrs per day!( cos they practice ranch system of grazing). While here in naija our cow don't produce more than 1.5 ltrs per day. Pls stop all these uninformed statements. |

Imagine a whole Governor. He prefers to wait till the fire gets to his own house when his neighbor ‘s house already engulfed; just to be politically correct |

you see challenges and problems forgetting that providing the solution once and for all will bring forth more gains eventually. With increase productivity from both the farmers and the herdsmen. If the borehole will cost a million per one, let them dig it. Don’t ever agree with anybody that tells you Nigeria does not have the financial muscle. It is more of the political will power. |

Like say na inside bush people dey go buy cows. If u don't know. They are transported straight to dealers who keep them in barricaded areas before they meet their maker. Dudes that deal on d stuff ship them in trailers, they don't chase Fulani's inside the bush to buy cows. mu2sa2: 1 Like |
