The Nigerian Army has debunked a report in the social media that the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Tukur Buratai, was injured in a purported ambush by Boko Haram terrorists at an undisclosed location in the North-East while on his way to visit troops. Stressing that the Army chief was not a victim of any ambush, the Army spokesman, Sani Usman, held in a statement issued on Saturday that there was no ambush against soldiers anywhere else let alone in the North-East.
