A sand that is suitable for glass making because of its high silica content (93% to 99%) and its low content of iron oxide, chromium is SILICA SAND.

We have available three different types of sand for the fabrication of glass. The Iron and Alumina content are the main differences between each type.

Glass Sand is a special type of sand that is suitable for glass making because of its high silica content, and its low content of iron oxide, chromium, cobalt and other colorants.

The sand contains about 88 to 99% of silica with a few percentages of iron, titanium, cobalt, and other materials.
Silica sand is a major ingredient in the production of glass making—in fact, silica is the primary component in standard glass products ranging from windows to beer bottles. The purity of the silica sand used plays a role in determining the color, strength and clarity of the final product.
