Fashola projects 8,119MW power generation for 2018

The Federal Government has hinted that it expects power generation to gain increment of 1,119 Mega Watts by 2018, and that the expected development should stand at 8,119MW against current record of 7,000.

Whether it is realisable or not, the government said that there should be additional 1,119 Mega Watts from generating plants that would go on stream come 2018, again what the country 7,000MW currently been recorded.

The Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, stated that the megawatts increment projection was realizable and that one of the power plan at Azura would certainly produce 450MW out of the expectation.

Speaking at 22nd monthly meeting of stakeholders in power sector at Geregu in Kogi on Monday. Fashola said that the expected figure was achievable since measures were already been put in place to have the said megawatts by the said year.

According to him, from drawing board, the government will also get 10MW of wind power from Katsina State and it will get 115MW from Gbari and 30MW from Kashimbila.

Budget for generators increasing year on year!

Fashola ordinary primary school leaver in Kenya produce electricity for his community. If all these lecturers not fit to be called electricians can't produce electricity for his or her community we need to check their certificate.
