GTB Introduces Minimum Balance Of N1,000 by daylight03: 11:33am On Apr 01, 2010
Got a text yesterday,  I was kind of surprised and disappointed,  i mean this is GTB nowww,  a couple of days ago i was even reading this thread on nairaland praising GTB for the fact that they don't charge a lot for transactions and they don't require a minimum balance, I wonder why they felt this was necessary.
Recently the standard of their services has been dropping sha,  their customer care to be specific,  at my branch the customer care is understaffed and overstressed and it shows on their faces,

Your source pls, I dont believe all these cooked rumors. I believe GTBank wouldn't do that. As per their customer service, i think is getting retarded everyday. GTBank used to be customer friendly, dont know what happened, especially the one at Adeola Odeku and Ojuelegba branches, they are really suck these past few days.

GTBank, sit straight pls

I think they want to start reaping what other banks like UBA have been getting. It is rather surprising to see that GTB of all banks are doing this. Well no much surprise, they are about one of the good banks that did not sack their worker-thumbs up to them for that. I think this is one way they are conpesating themselves for not reducing their staff strength. Let us all be on the watch if these CBN review will work out, else we will start thinking of putting "our treasures where our heart is". Goodluck house.

I have multiple accounts (Savings, Current and Domiciliary) with GTB and I have not received any text relating to this. Someone is trying to be mischievous.

For now, I'd love to believe that this is a case of April fool. Somehow, I made a withdrawal yesterday afternoon which happens to reduce my balance to an amount lesser than N1000. So, try to convince me. undecided

Maybe, its not yet effected, but its true. They sent me an email stating this. But this does not change my stand about GTB being the best. Afterall Oceanic bank operates a minimum of N5000. in their executive savings acc.

Re: GTB Introduces Minimum Balance Of N1,000 by monsieurp: 5:37pm On Apr 01, 2010
i doubt the N1000 minimum balance thing but believe it or not GT BANKS standard has started falling. i was at their aba road branch in port Harcourt opposite shell R.A. ( for those of u who live in PH) the customer services was terrible. The receiving teller even insulted a customer when we all corrected her she asked us to go to hell.

had similar experience at the GRA branch the customer service lady left us over 5 person to go for lunch. it was that bad. i guess the bank reforms is making the bankers edgy as such they dont offer they usual excellent customer service they were know for. please GT Bank sit up pls don't become like UBA or Oceanic bank
