The introduction of USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) has changed the Nigerian banking system completely. Today, mobile banking services have been deployed by almost every bank in Nigeria. USSD is a service where bank transactions can be carried out by dialling simple shortcodes on mobile phones. USSD transaction does not require the use of internet or mobile apps, which ensure that customers who do not have access to the internet can use the USSD service to make banking transactions. Different Banks in Nigeria now have their distinct USSD codes which make it possible for their customers to perform transaction like transfer of funds, airtime purchase, subscription payment etc. For you to be able to use the USSD code for your bank, you will need to have access to the mobile number used to open the account with the bank or the mobile number that has been linked to the account. if this has not been done then the transaction will not be possible using the USSD code. A mobile transaction using USSD codes require account registration for first-time users and a PIN code (either 4 or 5 digits) which can be done by simply dialling the bank USSD code and following the screen prompts. You can as well download Quick Bank from Google Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coretech.allnigeriabanksussd. It automates the codes and you don't need all the confusing stars and harshs. Did I mention that it lets you see the codes you are dialing? You can even copy and paste in your dialer.
