There Are Times in the Bible When God Doesn’t Know All, and Tests People to Find Things Out
The Bible says God is perfect in knowledge, knows all thoughts, all secrets, sees all and no-one can hide from God.

Yet there are times when God doesn’t know things, such as where people are.

Check these verses:

Genesis 3:8-13 – Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord, amongst the trees of the garden, and God had to go find them, and then asks them questions.

Genesis 11:4 -9 – Tower of Babel;: God “comes down” to see what the people are up to.


Genesis 18:20-21 – “Then the LORD said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous
that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know. ””(SO HE DOES NOT KNOW??)

Job 1:7 , 2:2 – “And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, from going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”(He does not know where Satan has been)


Yet an all-knowing God, creator of all time, knows exactly who will pass any tests, and knows exactly what is in everyone’s heart. So either God is lying about his reasons, or, god is not actually all-knowing.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

The idea of the Abrahamic God developed over time. He started out as a god of war and over the centuries the Jews and Christians kept hyping him up:
Israel’s god of war.
The jealous god of Israel who tolerates no other gods.
The strongest god.
The ruler of all the other gods.
The only true God.
The creator of all things.
Who can do all things.
Who knows all things past, present and future.
Who is everywhere all at once.
Who loves everybody and wants them to go to heaven.

The contradictions in the Bible regarding the limitations of Gods powers and his nature testify of this evolution of the idea of God as conceived by men. (Jesus went through a similar evolution; He was not always considered to be co-equal with God)

The original writers of many of the stories in Genesis simply didn’t think that God was omnipresent and omniscient. They believed that God lived on a throne in the sky (“heavens”). And he had messengers (angels) who flew to the earth from the sky with their wings to deliver messages on his behalf. And he came down from the sky occasionally to instruct and bless the righteous men (not women). It’s a pity that modern Christians choose to read these dated fables as if they are historical facts.

Of course God is omniscient. He gave us the gift of freewill, hence, we determine our destinies by every action we take. God knows everything and he sets the destinies of people in play , by allowing us to choose the path he has predestined for us. But if we choose not to follow that path, what lies beyond is destruction.

Adam and eve's destinies were in their hands and it would have been a glorious one if they had adhered to God's instructions. God sees things in diverse ways like a probability thing with possible outcomes. He knew if Adam disobeyed, he will become mere flesh and die, and if he had adhered, he would continue to walk with God forever. So he told them not to eat of the tree, at least he warned them.

It's a gift God has given to mankind, freewill. But we mustnt misuse it, rather ask him for direction and let his spirit guide and lead you into all truth(see john16:13, john14:17 Romans 8:14, proverbs 3:5) and into the destiny he had preordained for u... Only through Jesus will the spirit lead you ...He is the way! (john14:6)

Lol. Adam thought he could hide, but God knew where he was and he played along with the scenario, the mind games. Read in context..

He came because he knew they were up to something... If only you knew the offices of God. and how he operates... Whenever you read anywhere that the Lord was spotted, he is in disguise of an angel or is in the of office of God the son... Because the Father is always enthroned... From there he sees, hears and does all things...

If he doesn't know, then how does he know that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was great? how did the "outcries" reach him?.. He was considering if he would spare them or not.

The Lord seeks confession...He knew where Satan had been... Satan was spotted battling for the body of Moses with the angel of the Lord . The book of Jude confirms it. The Lord must have sent the angel to claim the body... Moses story preceded job's .. So the Lord knew all along.

if He had interfered (without our requests/permission) then it will be He's not given us "freewill"... hmmmmmm

if he does then it means our existence is meaningless, because he already know where each n everyone of us will end up...

Is God omniscient? You decide.

Does God know the future but has the power to change it? Then God cannot be said to be omniscient.

Does God as a purported perfectly moral entity have propositional knowledge of feelings like hate, lust, envy, apathy and sloth? Then God cannot be said to be omniscient.

Op, the question is simple. The person who was testing Adam and Eve is not God Almighty, rather, he is also a creature of God Almighty just like you and me. God Almighty doesn't have time for nitpicking and pettiness like that. Some of God Almighty's children are those who have time for pettiness. Why do you think God Almighty who created the universe of countless stars will have time for nonsense like that?
Well, to tell you the truth, Yahweh and some of his brothers are those who reason like that. They are too childish that they can do the unexpected. The children of God Almighty sch as Atum, Ra, Miklas etc who are far more intelligent will not stoop that low to be finding faults like their brothers such as Yahweh, Allah, Moloch, Mazda, etc.

God is Wisdom(Insight), Knowledge(Hindsight) and Understanding(Foresight). God is The Instructor, The Director and The Discernment of The Universe. God is The Light, The Good and The Life of The Universe. So God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and OmniEverything.

There is no one God that is supreme. The world and the universe as a whole is controlled by several forces(gods). Africans have a perfect idea of god. We have the god of thunder, iron, water body etc. These control their domain. The idea that these or there is a God who know all things is a human conception.

The "god of the bible" can at best be described as a human being!!!

This not restricted to the god of the bible. The god of the Koran, Torah, in fact the gods of all the Abrahamic religion is only the imagination of the human creator of these gods.

Lol. What an omniscient God. I thought people carry out tests because they DO NOT KNOW the outcome. Our omniscient God seems to have a great deal of fancy for testing people---and reacts like a human when the results do not meet up with his expectations---they do not suffice in feeding his gluttonous giant of an EGO.

If God is beyond our understanding, then God is MEANINGLESS word, and no one can talk about it, since no one can know ANYTHING about it---it is beyond our understanding. So, whatever you claim to know about it is FALSE.

It becomes a meaningless, worthless word that is no different from another meaningless word, like "y8hgt2".
