Noo joke bro! You seem to know them all too well .
243 billion is almost a billion dollars on it's own.
If our suspicion is anything to go by of these thieving statesmen, why not just channel a chunk of it to fight the (technically defeated) insurgents?
This culture of waste and gluttony is what has kept us permanently underdeveloped!
..and one governor will tgen allow his sidechick to disappear with some millions of this slush!

My Delta State will not invest these Billions on meaningful project aside political empowerment. States with limited Billions are doing well infrastructurally and otherwise

what were the parameters and criteria of disbursing the funds to states and why are some state received high. is it due to contribution of money to federal government and pollution?/

How do they come up with this sharing formula? And what are they supposed to do with all this extra cash?

I think its time the FG starts sharing this money to citizens instead of useless Governors like Rochas who will only mould statues and finance silly ministries

Without defending the Governors who need to do more with their allocations, Nigeria is looted more at the Federal level than what any state Governor no matter how corrupt can ever hope to do.

Imagine that from Kano to Oyo, From Sokoto to Port Harcourt, ANY major developmental project you see anywhere in Nigeria today is undertaken by the respective state government. Yet 36 of them collectively receive just 26% of federal resources. Then ask yourself what was done with a whopping 54% of our national resources cornered by the Federal Government quietly. The Federal Government never publish what they give themselves through Paris club and federal allocation because most if it is stolen.

Mind you even if the Federal Government decided to spend just half of their allocation (27%) on infrastructure in every state and keep the other 27% for general administration of the Federal Government, there will be a boom of infrastructural projects in every state in Nigeria and Nigeria will become a developed country within 10 years.

In the most recently shared allocation of November, 2017, look at all the massive money FG collects (54%) N248.2 billion, yet not a single Federal road or federal infrastructure is in good condition.

Yet it is the whole 36 states sharing paltry (26%) N125.9 billion that are doing most infrastructural projects anywhere in Nigeria today.

The level of corruption in the Federal Government is unprecedented.

They should hurry up and review this Abacha revenue formula so that states can be given breathing space to shoulder all the developmental burden of Nigeria they currently shoulder.

More than 40-50% of the federal govt monthly allocation goes into the payment of salaries...The FG has employees in all state of the federation, if the FG fails to pay salaries in a single month, the whole system might collapse..ASUU would shutdown the university, Doctors would go on strike, Pengassan would not take it likely, the police and SARS would have more reasons to exploit u and I, even our Corpers would tell u "this is what I got for serving my nation", the MDGs and MDAs would steal more fund, just imagine not paying Saraki and Dino there monthly allowance(paying then Gan, they still steal).
Aside from Salaries, the Federal govt operate at a level no state government can ever operate, pays debt, have more than 30/40 ministries waiting to receive fund for one project or the other..
I am not telling u they don't steal, but trying to diffuse the thinking that the FG sit on its 54% monthly allocation without doing anything..
