No fewer than 20 personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were been dismissed by the agency, the action of which was said to have procure after most of them were arrested for improper act including extortion and misconducts against its regulations.

It was learnt that asides the 20 that were dismissed, five other officers of the agency, out of which three were listed, identified as Bamidele Sheu, 48, Ope Adisa, 32, Babatunde Aluko, 37, were arrested in different locations within the state for different offences following complaints from the public.

They were arrested after a clearing agent, Akinmolyan Babtunde, reported to LASTMA that there personnel and some others in mufti have illegally arrested his container truck and refused to release the truck, given him condition that he must pay eighty thousand naira bribe before his truck could be released, although he eventually paid seven thousand naira before his vehicle was released.
