Passengers in Atlanta are laughing through the tears, trying to make the best of an epic power outage that has stranded thousands in the world's busiest airport.

The blackout halted all outgoing flights Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Sunday, with many passengers stuck on the tarmac for hours as over 1,000 were flights cancelled.

in Nigeria this is normal, and it doesn't even stop anything..
I could remember me going to the power supply company I.e phcn to complain about low power supply, only for me to see them using generator.
seriously I went back home.

They may not have a backup generator because they don't expect this kind of thing to happen. From the reactions, you can see it is unusual. This may happen once in 30 years and this why it is making news. A Nigerian visitor in that airport will not see it as a big deal. Do you know how many black outs I have experienced in our airports this year alone? Ours no longer make news because it is part of our national life.

I'm not sure they even have backup generators as its not a normal occurence for them to have blackouts. I'm sure this may not have happened in over twenty years
