Deaconess Ikpeazu storms Isiala Ngwa South with empowerment

-As Isikaku kicks off rural roads grading in the LGA

Wife of Abia State Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, stormed Omoba in Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State today with various empowerment materials for women of the area.

Mrs Ikpeazu who empowered 60 women who passed through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) training in dress making, catering and bead making with 30 sowing machines, catering and bead making materials assured the women of the determination of the Ikpeazu administration to "spread prosperity in the state starting with our women and mothers".

LGA Chairman, Mrs Amaka Isikaku, also donated 200 pieces of wrappers to the women of the LGA as Xmas gifts and charged them to actively support their husbands in ensuring the well being of Abia families.

The chairman of Isiala Ngwa South local government, Chief Ifeanyi Isikaku, used the occasion to flag off the grading of rural roads sponsored by the council in response to the recent call by Governor Ikpeazu to LGA Chairmen to commence immediate grading of rural roads in their areas.

It will be recalled that during a recent radio and television interaction with citizens, Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, applauded the chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Mr Ginger Onwusibe, for embarking on rural roads grading and called on others to follow the example.

According to Governor Ikpeazu, "if your LGA Chairman is not grading rural roads this Xmas 'kusuo' ya...Ginger is also a local government chairman and he is grading roads already".

Speaking to newsmen after flagging off the rural roads grading at Omoba, Chief Isikaku assured that no community will be left behind in the area and expressed his administration's determination to support the caterpillar revolution of Governor Ikpeazu in the state.

The Chairman also thanked Mrs Ikpeazu for "showing love and care to women of our LGA in a manner that will empower them to become life long fishers instead of fish eaters".
