Just incase you people don't know on this thread, I'm very interested in the development of any part of igboland.

As an umuahia man, I'm more related to someone from Obowo and Mbano in imo state than someone from Arochukwu or Ohafia. So the idea of Abia and Imo state is useless to me, it's a contraption.

Someone from Umuneochi in Abia state is more related to Afikpo people in Ebonyi than they are to us Umuahia people.
Orlu and Oguta people are more related to Onitsha people than they are to owerri people. So damn the Anambra, Imo or Abia shit

So I will remain on this thread until Slowudo starts fixing that state without propaganda.

You are right in stating that Orlu and Owerri are not related.
Owerri is related to Ikwerre in Rivers state.
Guess why Owerri doesn't allow any government thing in Imo state to be located outside Owerri. Because Owerri people believe that no relatiinship between Owerri and Orlu may at one point in future, lead to carving Orlu out of Imo state for a new state. It nearly happened in 2007 when Njaba State was recommended to be carved out of Imo state.

Yes, but they are spamming the thread and making it an unattractive place to come and read/contribute ideas to the state's development. Which may indeed be their real aim. Especially if you follow their modus operandi.

The same people who insulted and belittled all Obiano's achievements to discourage him are now doing the same to Soludo and funnily now promoting Obiano! So it is very clear who these people are and what their evil agenda is. It is simply about rubbishing anything Anambra and discouraging whoever happens to be leading the state from taking any bold steps to move the state even further in development. They are bitter but don't help them derail the thread by predictably reacting to their silly antics.

This video summarized everything about the impact of street trading and the lack of good waste management.

We must address the issue of street trading and proper waste management that complicates the street trading phenomenon. Even new roads are already covered with sand and pure water sachets? Before the rains begin, they will fill the new drainage channels with refuse to guarantee that the drainage channels will not work. This street trading menace and refuse disposal onto the streets and gutters have to be addressed before we can have a decent environment.

The only problem I have with this yanga guy is that his report is usually unbiased and totally out to rubbish the on projects. All the things he kept repeating in his videos are worse in other states like Enugu, Imo, Abia and even Delta. The only l reason clash with some people here is when they try to make certain things seems as if it is only happening in Anambra whereas it should all inclusive for all the states particularly in SE. is the only credible source of information.

Street trading and poor attitude to environmental sanitation is indeed a problem in Anambra. Video was probably shot on Sunday so you see how the street traders lined up their makeshift shops on top of the gutters! They don’t even know that nobody should be on top of gutters to sell anything!

Imagine that this road was completed just about 3 weeks ago! It already has trash and sand all over it! Wow!

Soludo has commissioned the temporary site for the Solution Innovation District located at De Destination, Awka
The Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned the take-off centre of the Solution Innovation District (SID) in Awka. The Innovation district which is a one-stop shop for youths in the areas of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, will provide training, incubation, and access to investment to spur the growth of the startup ecosystem in the State. The district provides access to high-speed internet, steady power supply, conducive and serene environment for innovators, creators, and the digital tribe to thrive.

Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo C.F.R, Governor of Anambra State, Rt Hon Somto Udeze, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Chinwe Okoli, Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation

Performing the function, Governor Soludo congratulated the 20,000 Anambra youths who recently participated in the initial training programme of the Solution Innovation District, ‘LevelUp Anambra’ for acquiring various digital skills online. The Governor thanked Microsoft and Wootlab Foundation for partnering with the State government to make the program a reality, revealing that the current Government House will become the permanent site of the Solution Innovation District once he moves into the new government house currently under construction.

He added that SID is a sign of the state government's commitment to developing Anambra youths.

"The world may be going east or west, but Nigeria must go through necessary disruptive changes. The removal of subsidy and floating of exchange rate are just some of these changes. It is quite auspicious that we are opening this district at this critical time.

"Our greatest resource is our human capital, and we want to mine it to its infinite elasticity. Only those who can see tomorrow. Only those who plan and work towards it, can control the future. I ask our youths to look up to opportunities in these ongoing disruptive changes.

"In a digital age, human capital appreciates with continuous usage. We must keep on innovating and acquiring multiple scalable skills to control the future.

We want the youths and children of ndi Anambra to be prepared for this future invention, innovation, and technology," Governor Soludo said.

"We must focus on tomorrow. The old order is gone, so let's not cry to bring it back. We are empowering and training our youths to control the future and become champions of the world."

"Technology is our mantra. We want to get technology to become our culture. Everything technology and technology everywhere!"

"The 0.01 criminals that cause nuisance in our society cannot define us. They are completely insignificant" the Governor stressed.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli thanked the Governor for his commitment in actualizing the vision which she explained is quite timely.

“Solution Innovation District is a platform for you to innovate, create, ideate, invent, and to give your talents the wings to fly. Yes, many of you here are a bundle of talents. You can create wonderful solutions and guess what? Now is the time with S.I.D. SID is a place where you Think outside the box, think even without a box, Think big and Explore your immense potentials.

“At SID, we provide you steady power supply, high-speed internet, basic amenities, and clean and conducive office space for you to focus on building your dream solutions across sectors.”

“SID programs include business incubation, digital skills training, business acceleration, angel investment, outsourcing of the best talents out of Anambra. We also have plans to democratize innovation through schools and SID mini hubs in various locations”

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha Mba, and the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu respectively said that the district is in line with Governor Soludo's commitment to develop Anambra youths.

The best beneficiaries of the "Level Up Anambra" digital training were presented with laptops.

The Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Okwy Igwegbe, Chief Protocol Officer, Hon Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour) and other Members of Anambra State Executive Council, Members of Anambra State House of Assembly, Transition Committee Chairmen, among others attended the event.

I see your point. But let’s stop comparing with other states. Nigeria is a messed up country where nothing works. Therefore we should learn to do the right things and not copy the rot elsewhere in Nigeria. That is why Anambra is the light of this nation that is pitch darkness .

I will post a few street from Jamaica or Barbados that have less resources than most Nigerian states. But because they insist on proper waste disposal and fight against street trading and general lawlessness , those small countries now look like heaven compared to Nigeria.

Meanwhile Jamaica and Barbados which had the worst types of street trading and littering of the streets just like Nigeria, started cleaning up their country, planting trees and flowers along their roads and removing illegal makeshift structures and shanties used for street trading. Today, these countries look decent while Nigeria that used to look decent in the past, has continued to get worse over the years with the multiplication of street trading shanties all over our cities, mountains of trash called refuse dump sites on our streets and debris littered streets and drainage gutters as standard practice.

How we will accommodate displaced street traders in Awka – ASGOVT
starconnectmedia.com

Anambra Government, led by Professor Charles Soludo is developing sales point for displaced traders across Anambra State
AWKA, Nigeria – Anambra State Government has concluded plans to develop cluster sales points within Awka capital to accommodate displaced street traders.

Head of Development Control, Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA,Mr Charles Ekwunife stated this on Thursday in Awka when he led a team to sensitize members of the public on government policies towards making Awka a mega city.

He said to achieve this , government has designated various temporary locations for the traders so that they will not be causing obstruction in major roads across the capital city.
According to him, the temporary locations will assist the traders to continue with their businesses pending the completion of the sales points.

He said , when the traders move into the designated places, it would be much cheaper and safer for them rather than displaying their goods and wares along the streets in Awka.
Ekwunife stated that inline with the Governor Soludo’s idea of creating a liveable and prosperous Homeland, the Awka Capital Territory Development Agency( ACTDA), has underscores the importance to enhance beauty of the environment.

According to Ekwunife all shop and business owners within the state capital will immediately use yellow Aluco board with black write ups as signposts in other to give the capital city a desirable outlook.

He said the aim of the state government was to have an organised uniformed city outlook as every shop is expected to give a distance of four foot from the drainage channels across the state

He further said that people are allowed to have a canopy in front of their shops but such must not be extended more than four feet from the building. He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the present administration to ensure that Awka is raised to a status befitting status of a state capital as the enforcement will be a continuous exercise.

The ACTDA Head of Development Control noted that the present administration has also decided that containers are no longer allowed along the major streets across the state capital.

Everyone knows that Nigeria as a whole is a shithole, I have been to some developed countries so I know this for a fact. Believe me, Anambra is a leader. Even if those that run Nigeria pretend otherwise. We should learn to stop measuring ourselves with the rot the country has become.

If we begin to do things the right way in Anambra, the entire country will copy it . Which will eventually lead to Nigeria becoming a livable place. Remember that Nigeria’s independence was facilitated by an Anambra man. Perhaps if he didn’t make that move for independence, those people grabbing power today in Nigeria would just docilely remain under colonial rule. That is why you must not compare yourself to people who couldn’t care less if cow dung is used as mattress for the entire country.

You’ve got to do what is right and do it to international standard. Even if some parts of the country prefer medieval Stone Age sanitary practices and a generally lawless environment with primitive societies.

Street trading is lawlessness. Under Obi you did not see hordes of street traders because the government did not allow it. It was under Obiano that massive lawlessness in the cities took root where people started selling inside gutter and government left them. Then everyone with a wheelbarrow became a vendor and government left them. Now the flood of people from all manner of places are descending on Anambra where you can sell anyhow and anywhere.

I like what ACTDA is doing. All those vendors should go look for a shop. High traffic roads are not the only commercial places. They should go open in other areas.

That is it. If you leave a human being to behave anyhow he can be no better than an animal. African societies like to remain primitive and fight against structure and organisation. Contrast how commercial streets are in China and Onitsha. The Chinese make their shopfronts attractive, put nice signs, Onitsha traders are happy with a primitive shop with primitive canopy in front displaying their wares on top of gutter.

Governments in other climes take serious effort to maintain cleanliness, law and order and organization. Nigeria government barely sweeps the road, the gutter is filthy, non-existent traffic lights.

Let's call a spade a spade.
Soludo didn't come to work...he's such a lazy governor without foresight.

Recently I was in Anambra and the state has been taken six years backward. Nothing is working there...streets still look same..no changes year to year...same dusty look. Roads are still untarred. It seems if soludo manages to fix one road,he uses it for a year campaign and noise without doing anything. Civil servants in d state complaining bitterly...can't believe that almighty Anambra has not implemented the minimum wage for long😳.
Agboro everywhere on Onitsha roads...Same old, dusty and dirty looking buildings in Onitsha.

Ndị Anambra what's really happening in ur state?
