The first edition of the okoro Owo annual football competition has been rounded up with the final match played on 24th December 2017

The finals between the rising star and young shall grow football group end with an aggregate of 2-1 leaving Rising star football group the winner and a take home of a N100k

The final match which was graced by dignitaries from Owo local government area includes Alhaji Tajudeen Akinyemi Olajide- (chairman Ondo state football agency) ,Hon. Abdul ganiyu oma luka

(Chairman Owo local government), Mrs Abegunde (wife Ondo SSG) ,Mr Sola Okoro (Director Local government Okitipupa)among st others.

During her speech the wife of the Ondo state Secretary said she would donate a sum of N50k each to both teams and also vowed to see to the development of Owo stadium by championing the course .


The chairman of Owo local government Hon.Abdul Ganiyu Omaluka laud Engr. Okoro Olawande who is the sponsor and initiator of the competition to keep up the good work which is first of its kind in the LGA,he implore others to emulate such gestures.

In his speech Engr Okoro Olawande said he would not stop until he has fulfilled his dreams of seeing youths from the local government play at the national level sighting the likes of Mikel Obi , Kanu Nwankwo as case study . Further more he said his love for football as a child inspired the zeal to support grassroots players.

Engr Okoro Olawande is a Geologist ,Philanthropist and the initiator of the Okoro Owo football, he resides and work in the United States of America ,he's a native of Owo in Ondo state.
