AS 2017 WINDS UP, IMO PEOPLE STILL DESIROUS FOR THE RETURN OF PDP BACK TO POWER.

IMO is among the league of states in Nigeria patiently waiting for the return of PDP back to power in 2019.

For some of us who lived in IMO between 1999-2007 when the PDP held sway in the state through Gov. Achike Udenwa in an uninterrupted 8 years tenure, when due process and rule of law reigned supreme above every other personal and family consideration.

The era when Local Govt in IMO state enjoyed full autonomy and financial independence to cater for the welfare of the rural dwellers. The time when LGA elections were periodically held in the state and people democratically elect Councillors and LGA Chairmen to manage their affairs. The period LGA Chairmen enjoy 3 years Constitutional tenure with their Councillors without any external interference from the State Government.

Those who lived in IMO when a litre of fuel was sold at #50 and a bag of cement #1000, and those who live in IMO now where a litre of fuel is sold at 300 and a bag of cement 4000 can tell the difference.

Governor Achike Udenwa with the little funds and revenue at his disposal never embarked on any meaning less/ white elephant project in the State. Never did Achike Udenwa receive any Bail Out fund neither did he get any Paris Club fund to assist his administration.

The PDP administration leveraged on the little funds at its disposal to build IMO State Civil Service Secretariat Owerri, IMO State University Teaching Hospital Orlu. PDP developed several Housing estates including Redemption Estate Obinze, Udenwa Estate Area H New Owerri, Egbeada Federal Housing etc, unfortunately today what we now develop in IMO is Spibat, Amusement parks, bongo square, hero square etc.

The discovery of New Owerri is no doubt the handiwork of PDP government. World Bank Area, Akanchawa avenue etc are all discoveries of a PDP government. Though IMO people are aware of the plans of Gov Rochas Okorocha and his party APC to wipe and clean the unmatched and unequal achievements of PDP government in the state with road side white-elephants projects claiming the previous PDP govt before them did nothing. Thank God IMO people are now wiser to identity good from bad.

The call for the return of PDP back to power is a natural call from every
IMO born man or Woman who has interest in good governance, due process, rule of law, accountability and transparency in government.

IMO people can no longer sit and watch our people die in hardship, penury and sufferings while clowns and nitwits determine and hold their future in ransom.

The PDP as a democratic party has given room for comparative government in the state by stepping aside for some other political parties to rule the state after them, and now that the comparison and has been done, IMO people now earnestly yearn for the return of PDP as it has been ordained by God and man that the party must take over power again by 2019 both at the state and National level.
