National Union of the Dead (NUD) has released a statement in reaction to the appointment of its members to various positions by their erstwhile member Muhammadu Buhari.

Rising from its extraordinary emergency meeting, the Union expressed anger at the surprise of the yet alive Nigerians to the long-overdue appointments by the president.

The communique further reads, "We agreed with the president that once we allowed him to return to the land of the living, he would ensure an end to the marginalization of our members in appointments in Nigeria of which we are important stake holders."

The Union further expressed happiness with the federal character of the appointments, but however regretted the number of appointments. It said it expected the commander-in-chief to give at least 20% of available positions to its members, which would help the Union help develop the country since the living have failed the nation.

It further said that anyone who didn't like the development was free to join them.

Finally, the Union enjoined all citizens, both living and dead, to put all differences aside and work together for the good of the nation.
