Plenty unions in d oil industry. The day the chairman/Secretary of one of d unions wake's up on the wrong side or have misunderstanding with his wife, he will call his members to embark on strike thereby paralysing the economic activities in the country ..the only solution to this lingering fuel scarcity is to refine our products locally...how do we refine products locally, by building refineries or do a turn around maintenance on the existing refineries with all sincerity. It saves cost if we r sincere with ourselves..I know some people r praying for the refineries not to work because they are making money from importation of petroleum products. It's now left for the govt to fish out dis economic saboteurs...God Bless Nigeria..Happy New great people...

The criminal dog Buhari said he had deregulated the sector before hence 145 per liter, when we pointed out flaws in that statement, zombies said we should shut up. Zombie goats like Femi Falana, Lauretta Onochie, Pat Utomi, Wole Soyinka and their co lizards online, how will you defend this now ? The pot of beans you rejected in 2012 is being served hot and rotten to you now. Marketers are begging for subsidized dollars to import products, manufacturers are begging for these same dollars to import raw materials but instead the subsidize dollars are given to aboki's to sell at humongous profits according to Emir Lamido Sanusi or worse still, those going on pilgrimages that won't add any economic benefit to Nigeria. Don't you see that those at the helm of affairs in Abuja are mad ?

They are not mad.
It is we the people who are mad for letting them treat us like shitty trash.

Buhari is a fraud.
That has been their game plan from time.

1) Trigger scarcity of petroleum products

2) Arrange with a couple oil industry players to sponsor a campaign for deregulation.

3) Bribe Labour Leaders

4) Increase prices of product's

5) Bribe more labour leaders and civil society groups

I'm still trying to figure out why you guys are blaming your woes on Buhari. Every normal person knew he was inept before you all voted him in as your leader. But yet you voted anyway. Not even bothering to ask him how he was going to achieve all the promises he made. Is this the first administration you've heard of deregulation or is this first time there has been scarcity of fuel? This has been going on since the 70's. What does this tell you? You all ignore the real problem but are pros at apportioning blame. The citizens of Nigeria's problem is they continue to do the same thing but laughably expect different results. Is that not the very definition of irony? Unbelievable.

I know from day one of this fuel scarcity that it is a conspiracy agenda of the federal government with the oil marketers to increase the price of fuel. There was no reason per say for fuel scarcity in the first instance. They just had to make it happen to make the increase the acceptable to Nigeria.

I keep praying that solar powered inventions flood the market just so we can depend less on their becoming over-hyped, gradually outdated products. The country's blessing has become a very big curse and reason for backwardness.
Re: FG Faces Pressure To Deregulate Downstream by GavelSlam: 11:02am On Jan 01, 2018
There must be no deregulation until we have some local capacity to refine our own products.

we cannot benefit from our God given resources again, what's is the advantage of being a citizen of oil producing country, in other countries there is free education, subsidised health care, unemployment benefit and housing ,even food, anything to alleviate the suffering of the people, here it's how to indict maximum pain on the people ,and the worst part is its the people that are stretching their neck to be hanged, like those clamouring for deregulation, The meaning of deregulation in Nigeria is price increase with its attendant consequences.

Yes, total deregulation will work this time, why because,
Many modular refinery is set, more private refinery like dangote is ready and reduction of dollar for more independent marketers to freely import, will reduce price of fuel within a short period of time

Specifically name one modular refinery that is ready and the location.

There was partial deregulation within a year when the fuel price was increase from 86.5k to 145.why didn't, t they speed up approvals for licences of modular refinery so that most of they would have been rounding up installations and ready to be put into use by now. Ways of causing more hardship for the masses.

Tyche:
Deregulation will solve the problem but should have been done long ago, and the result clearly visible by now.

But the likes of Buhari, who claims to know all about petroleum delayed it with their uninformed data and incompetence.

Now the journey we would have started a long time ago is about to start. Make Buhari apologise abeg
Re: FG Faces Pressure To Deregulate Downstream by bigpicture001: 12:40pm On Jan 01, 2018
apc never deregulated the oil industry..instead they lied they did.what really happened was that the international price for crude fell drastically and the price of imported petrol fell so much as to cancel the price the FG paid on deregulation..hence the FG lied it dereugulated.now that the price of crude is close to 70$..the subsidy resurfaced and the price the FG pays for it is gradually being unbearable, hence the talk again about deregulation. now my p is..why lie to your people just for cheap popularity..?
