I got admission last year to study Statistics/Computer science(bsc.edu). Though I applied for Computer science. (Bsc).I've been thinking of switching back to computer science bsc but some seniors have advised me against that citing reasons like the advantage that having double honours gives me in the labour market and also am not impressed with the out dated stuffs that the lectures dish out to us.
The complaints of the final year students don't make it any better as most of them don't know much in the practical aspect of computer science.My current course has it's downsides too,like the credit load, extra classes and disregard for bsc education students, my parents are divided about it too,my dad prefers com.sci cos he sees all bsc.edu graduates as teachers while my mom prefers my current course cos of it's diversity.
Please nairalanders advice a brother,which if the courses has better job prospects,should I switch or remain in my current course?? Thanks.
