Voter apathy has been described as the unwillingness of qualified voters to participate in elections.
Professor Saleh Dauda of the university of Abuja says when voters refuse to vote,the result of such polls could not be a true representation of the peoples will.

But the Boss of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Professor Maurice Iwu says there was no justification for abstaining from voting.
