I have always dreamed of applying to the Nigerian Army, do master holder have an higher rank than a bsce holder

2nd Lt is what you are commission with no special treatment even if you apply with PHD. you get promoted based on military course you pass.

Accelerated promotion if you are in the medical field

Even with a PhD you can never be promoted to a Lt Col from the day you applied in the army. Such ranks are earned in the field and not by paper qualifications. In fact getting to a captain which is two ranks less than a Lt Col, no go easy for u as a civilian just joining the army.

Below is the ranking structure for degree holders/NDA graduates (NDA guys mostly start from Lt.)

Field Marshall
General
Lt. General
Maj. General
Bridg. General
Colonel
Lt. Colonel
Major
Captain
Lt.
2nd Lt.

The highest you can get with your masters degree is full Lt.

they don't accept Msc except in some rare case where your post graduate qualification qualifies you for a professional like in Psychology that you are not a psychologist until you have Msc in a sub-field. The only master they would accept is that one you get from their institutions either at home NDA Kaduna or from Sandhurst in India or military post graduate school in UK, or US...

Millitary system is different from civil service system applying with masters doesn't give you a higher rank over a degree holder.As a short service recruit who didn't go through NDA foundation there's a particular rank you can't exceed.

Even if you are a Prof u will never be a Lt col at point of entry. It will take you almost 20yrs in service to reach that rank. So with your masters you are treated the same with a Bsc holder.

How many miles can you run in 10 minutes, how good is ur eye sights, can u endure stress under breaking conditions without bulging, can you face danger and think clearly taking clear and tactical decisions? These are the things u should ask your self not the rank and pay, the Nigeria army is driven by moral and and passion for service to the nation, not rank
