It is appalling the way and manner in which some leaders of sociocultural groups speak concerning issues that are very delicate and requires concerted efforts from all and sundry.
The issue of herdsmen/farmers crises has little or nothing to do about religion rather it's one that has something to do with competing for scarce resources and limited space. There is global warming which generally affects the amounts of rainfall and sunshine thus leading imbalance in our ecosystem.
There is desert encroachment in the north and the Sahara desert is rapidly expanding leading to loss of once arable lands to desertification, also the drying of water bodies like Lake Chad and River Niger is something to consider.
Instead of commentators and the those in authorities and business of cattle rearing and farming to proffer long-term solutions to this lingering problem what we have is parochial and ethnic chauvinism.
All over the world farmers and herdsmen are always at loggerheads competing for space but ethnic or religious colouration is not given to it like we have in Nigeria.
