WHY IS OKOROCHA AFRAID OF IMO PDP?

Reports that emanated from the APC stakeholders meeting of Gov Okorocha's faction today had it that the Executive Governor of Imo State spent more than half of the time allocated to him, to address the audience, casting needless aspersions on the PDP. Expectedly, his online Vuvuzelas saw it as the best thing an executive governor of a state should concern himself with in such a meeting.

The meeting, which featured only a faction of the State APC should have been an avenue for the governor to tackle some of the numerous internal conflicts going on in the party. But that was not to be as the Ogboko born politician decided to use the inauspicious occasion to tell the world how jittery he is over the continuous rise in influence of PDP in the state as an opposition party. Okorocha, no doubts, knows that the only political party capable for stopping him from enthroning a successor is PDP, hence he has singled them out for infantile and baseless attacks.

Unfortunately for Okorocha and his faction of Imo APC, PDP are so engaged in grassroot politics now, so much so that they won't border giving an unmerited attention to the inconsequential diatribe from a man who has failed as a leader. If PDP is dead as the governor would want us to believe, why would it still form subject of discourse in a meeting that was organised to discuss the way forward for Okorocha's faction of Imo APC? It is apparent that Okorocha's faction of Imo APC are playing both the roles of a ruling party and an opposition party.

Imo PDP under Chief Charles Ezekwem has vowed to end the overwhelming anarchy in the state by ensuring that the party returns back to its status as the Peoples Party in 2019. Okorocha aware of this resolution from the the PDP has decided to use every opportunity to chastise and discredit the PDP in the State, however he has by doing so, without any knowledge to it, been confirming the party as the best opposition party in the state and by extension the party that is mostly likely to muscle power from him in 2019.
