Kings’ College Lagos Holds Leadership Session For Graduating Students by Adesinaayo: 9:54am On Jan 18, 2018
As part of its programme to mark the end of the year 2017, King’s College Lagos on Tuesday, 16th January held a leadership cum motivational session for the 2017/2018 graduating class. The event which was held in the school’s assembly hall was under the theme, “Person of Impact” and delivered by Taiwo Akinlami, a lawyer and child protection specialist.
In his speech, Akinlami highlighted what he would have done differently if he was younger. Speaking directly to the students using his personal experience and background as a case study he said; “If I am 16 again, I will concentrate on what will add value to my future. I will focus on building my values and know that being young doesn’t mean that I will not pay for the consequence of my action.”
Speaking further, he stressed that the student at this stage should avoid everything that will add no value to their lives. “You have from the stage to pay attention to your ways. You should concentrate on things that will add value to your lives and proper your ways. Being young doesn’t mean you have time, so you should make best use of each minute of the day.” He said.
Speaking at the event the Director and the Acting Principal of the College, Mrs. Elizabeth Ibelim said the school will continue to do its best that its products become great in life. “One of the objectives of this session is to ensure that every king we are sending out has salient qualities that will be useful for him whenever he finds himself in the world. Every king is endowed with necessary leadership traits to face the world. She declared.
The event was put together by the school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
