Barcelona Midfielder Sergio Roberto has signed a new contract that will keep him in Camp Nou until 2022. The contract also carries a release clause of €500m.

Roberto’s deal was due to expire in June 2019 but the Spaniard will now stay at the Catalan giants until at least the summer of 2022.

The 25-year-old who is product of Barcelona’s youth academy made his debut for the Blaugrana in November 2010 before becoming a mainstay in the first team squad from 2013.

The Catalan has made 178 appearances for the Spanish giants and scored seven goals, with the most famous being the sixth goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last season.
