He trying to curb fake news that has plagued his social network and like any good thing or sacrifice it will come at a cost. Long term benefit is it will make the platform more trustworthy. The monetary benefits will take a while like twitter

Zuckerberg’s likely not concerned. He’s already pledged to give away 99% of his net worth in his lifetime.

technically , he didn't loose any money, his share price dropped by 4.5 percent, which meant the price of Facebook shares reduced on the stock market.....in terms of Forbes and networth, he is affected

but in terms of actual money, he didn't loose any, because he isn't going to sell his fb shares now,.. .... soon the uncertainty would be over and Facebook shares would rise in the stock market

so technically, there is no cash lost

Let me clear you further on what I meant, after the announcement, Facebook restarted massive campaign for blueprint (the ads platform). This should tell you something. For many people who are concious about their earnings, value and purpose and I believe Mark is among them, any loss is something and it's tangible. Read his speech at Harvard's class of 2017 commencement speech and his post prior to adjusting the news feed you might understand that the decision was based on a trade-off, not just because he can afford to loose such amount.
