Senator Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa the senator representing Abia north senatorial zone, has condemned in strong terms the Benue herdsmen massacre, speaking at the floor of the senate, he described it as most barbaric and inhuman, he said that the country has lost values and no longer places premium on human lives.

Senator Ohuabunwa who defined their primary role in the senate as that of making laws for the protection, good governance, peace and orderliness of the country, urged the senate to stand up and do something urgently in order save the country from explosion, and described what happened in Benue as a gory sight while calling on every senator to speak up in condemnation of the killings, irrespective of where you are coming from or your political affiliation.
