Benin – The management of Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) said it approved the sum of N5.7billion as a grant to empower a total of 108,367 rural farmers across 19 states of the Federation in the year 2017.

Mrs. Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, Executive Director of the organisation, who made the disclosure at the annual media forum of the institution in Benin-City, said the farmers were empowered through LAPO Agricultural and Rural Development Initiative (LARDI).

Osehobo, said the farmers were equally provided with high yield inputs and extension services, which boosted their farming operations in the period under review.
