[quote author=owoicho13 post=64721450]Thirteen states have not paid their teachers some for as long as 28 months, Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT) revealed this.
Osun tops the list with 28 months followed by Nasarawa, 26, Kogi 25, Benue 12 and Ekiti nine months.

NUT President, Comrade Alogba Olukoya, revealed this at the union’s 2018 annual gathering. He said the union is compiling reports from across the states before embarking on the strike. He added that both primary and secondary school teachers are affected.

“When we get report on salary, if it is not encouraging we will embark on strike. The next is the state of decays in our schools’ laboratories and libraries,” he said.
Olukoya appealed to the states to pay or begin to see the wrath of the Nigerian teachers. He, however, said Benue state will be excused from the strike because of the security challenges affecting the state at the moment.

He said the union has received assurance from the state government that the outstanding salaries will be paid soon.
The union however, berated the action of Kaduna state government for sacking teachers and directive to stop deduction of check off dues for trade unions.

The number of teachers affected in the 13 states were said to be about 300,000. The NUT could not give

Re: List Of 13 States Owing Teachers' Salaries by Obi1kenobi(m): 12:36pm On Feb 03, 2018
How can a state like Bayelsa, a small-population state with massive allocation and budget be owing salaries? What do they use their money for? How does Bayelsa with one of the top 4 allocations in the country and a massive budget owe salaries?

This is why despite the clear injustice to the Niger-Delta, sometimes you have to acknowledge they have the most useless leaders in the country. Even if you gave them 100% derivation, they'd find ways to waste or divert it all into the pockets of kleptocrats. It's shocking that Ibori is the best governor Delta ever had despite the billions looted from the state coffers. Even a thief like him still somehow managed to do more work that the incompetent clowns that came after him.

which one is false info , are u trying to say osun is just owing january salary, what about d arrears of all d half salary aregbe has been paying since july 2015 wch he made d promise to pay from April this year.may be u ar not living in Osun state . The info about Osun is very correct unless if u don't want to say the truth .
How does this amount to 28 months? You may also note that primary school teachers who are in grade 7 and below receive full payment and as such are not owed. This however does not disprove the fact that they were not owed(level 8 and above). Pensioners are also owed and has been receiving half salary.

Osun workers jubilate as Aregbesola pays full December 2017 salary

There was jubilation among civil servants in Osogbo, Osun State, on Tuesday evening as workers in the employment of the state government under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola began to receive payment of full salary for the month of December 2017.

Cross section of civil servants, who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune exuded joy as they lauded the state government for fulfilling its promise to pay full salary for the month of December 2017, just as they confirmed that the receipt of bank alerts for their salaries.

3. If you are really from Osun state, it should not be unclear to you that Osun state is not wing any salary according to the NLC

4. If you are really from Osun state, it should not be unclear to you that Osun state since last December 2017 have been paying full salary.

Who Is At Fault If They Dont Give Their All? Teachers Or Govt. We All Know Money Motivate Passion. I Repeat If U Were In Their Shoes Resigning Wont Come To Ur Mind. Let The Govt Pay Them All The 28 Months At Once. Then Resigning Can Work. But Resigning Now Will Be A Grave Mistake
