Today, we conclude on the characteristics of true sheep:

(f) Sheep love to be sheared: There is a difference between shearing and fleecing. Fleecing happens when a robber steals from the sheep. Shearing means the sheep is blessed enough to contribute to the Kingdom; a true sheep rejoices at the opportunity to give towards a project in the sheepfold. When sheep refuse to be sheared, the excess wool may cause them to be trapped in the thicket. Beware of attracting unwanted attention of false friends and thieves with the resources God gave you for His work. Shearing includes giving offering, tithing, partnership, getting involved in helping the less-privileged in the assembly. A true sheep doesn’t turn a deaf ear to a call to give scholarship to the indigent.

By the blessing of God, believers grow financially, but who places the greatest demand on your wool: God, man, or material things?

(g) They follow leader-sheep: One of the greatest traits of sheep is that they know their leader and follow him. They not only follow, but also imitate him. God always calls the shepherd in sheepfold to represent the standard that the sheep would pursue. While Jesus is the ideal, He gives you a human standard as an example of faith, Christian character and the demonstration of the Word of God. Don’t stay in a church that you cannot accept the pastor as a spiritual father over you, because it will affect the nature of a sheep that follows the shepherd’s voice.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that you give me grace to be a model example of a Christian in faith, words and deeds in Jesus’ name. Amen.
