NFF Celebrate Ex-Super Eagles Star Aghahowa At 36

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have sent birthday greetings to former Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa who turned 36 on Monday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The NFF sent the birthday wishes on their verified Twitter handle on Monday.

“Happy birthday Julius Aghahowa. Have a good one,” the NFF wrote.

Aghahowa made his Super Eagles debut in 2000 and went on to make 32 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

He was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.



He featured for Nigeria at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan where he scored Nigeria’s only goal in the tournament in their 2-1 group loss to Sweden.

Also, he represented Nigeria at the 1999 FIFA U-20 World Cup on home soil and the 2000 Sydney Olympics in Australia.

And at club level, he played for Bendel Insurance, Esperance of Tunisia, Shakhtar Donetsk, Wigan Athletic and Kayserispor.

NIG/GHA 2000 African nations cup,Nigeria against Tunisia nd against Senegal,he was a wonder nd our only goal in KOREA/JAPAN 2002 world cup against sweden,i still remember the cross from joseph yobo nd d way he headed that ball which found itself at d back of the net.AGHAWONDER! Painful club level he wasnt that fantastic nd he stopped playing football early.
