Today is Ash Wednesday, a day which some christians observe as the beginning of Lent (Fasting Period).

Coincidentally, its also Valentines day, & some people are confused
as per which side to follow. 1st John4v7&8 says ''beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; & every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love''
Matthew6v14&15 says '' for if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses''

Therefore, if you want to observe the lenten season, you should know which side you belong, not fasting because others are fasting...

+ You shld be @ peace with your neighbours


+Approach the Lord with a pure heart & conscience


+ Don't go about without brushing your mouth because u're fasting

+ Consider the nature of your job. If you're travelling a long distance eg from Ikorodu to Apapa or Lekki, remember that when Christ fasted, he was relaxing in the wilderness. Dnt risk yr life unnecessarily.


+If your job requires a lot of energy like brick-laying, or other factory job, pls fasting isnt for you.

+You may also consider reducing the hours, but ensure you back-up yr action with prayers!

''Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. BUT THOU, WHEN THOU FASTEST, ANOINT THINE HEAD, AND WASH THY FACE; THAT THOU APPEAR NOT UNTO MEN TO FAST, BUT UNTO THY FATHER WHICH IS IN SECRET: AND THY FATHER, WHICH SEETH IN SECRET, SHALL REWARD THEE OPENLY.'' - Matthew 6 V 16-18
