The suspect in the Parkland, Florida school shooting has been identified as Nikolas de Jesus Cruz. Cruz is a 19-year-old former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and had reportedly been identified as a threat in the past,was armed with AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

His identity was first reported by the AP and then later confirmed by law enforcement. At least 17 killed, more than 20 injured.
