I now see the reason why this government wants to build a railway line to Niger. Its no so clear to people in the South why this government is trying to build refineries close to Niger. A government of saboteurs undecided

And you foolishly believe the whole story.

Imagine the fvckery.

Smuggling contrabands on a motorcycle.
They aren't even concealed yet Nigerian Customs won't apprehend them simply because they are Northerners.

But from Seme to Idiroko down to Ore and even Agbor, if you like hide half bag of smuggled foreign rice and rebag it in a cement sack and further plant it in a container hidden inside a MACK truck. Customs will catch you.

Which way Nigeria?
you are so funny. Seems like this is a true life story.

Engaging in joint venture with Niger republic to build a refinery at the border is of advantage to Nigeria and Niger. Stop being petty with your thinking.

Niger has crude, and as such, the refinery will have no need for Nigerian crude.

Moreover. It would discourage the smuggling of petroleum products from Nigeria to Niger. The refinery will also provide the extreme parts of the Northern Nigeria with petroleum products and as such reduce the cost and logistics associated with moving petroleum products up those extreme North. Our roads will also be relieved of some fuel tankers.

A lot of the upheavals we are having in the downstream has to do with smuggling to neighbouring counties.

If JV with Niger will solve the smuggling problems up North, and Dangote refinery will flood the West African market, the fuel demand in Nigeria will decline to some extent and may be locally met if other players and the national refineries come on stream.
Stop doing mumuish oversabi. With all the advantages a huge southern Nigeria based refinery has why hasn't the same govt made good moves to build one. If a Niger/Nigeria refinery had all those advantages and prnspects why didn't Dangote - a private individual - invest there?
Does those reasons of yours also justify the location oe huge power plants in Kaduna, Kano and Abuja by NNPC also. We know how the northerners resist any progress that doesn't serve them and their huge entitlement mentality.

I believe the plan is for a pipeline to be built from Niger to Kaduna refinery since southerners are sabotaging the supply of crude from the south to the refinery.
In that way Niger has a ready market for its crude; while the north is free from southern blackmail - a win win situation for both the region and and her next door neighbour, including all the benefits you mentioned.

Where this one crawl from?? You are the one embarrassing yourself trying so hard to sound intelligent.

So because of Kaduna refinery, Niger Republic must not have plan to have another refinery through a JV scheme?

The arrogance and ignorance some of you display is mind boggling.

For your information, part of the plan is to have a pipeline from Niger Republic to feed Kaduna refinery with crude.

Seme, Idi Iroko, Owode and other Nigeria-Benin borders are terrible too. Aided by our security agents at the borders...

The land borders are worse. Nigeria’s land borders are extremely porous and our security agencies are the bane of the of Nigeria’s security challenges. All a criminal needs to smuggle contraband to Nigeria is MONEY to bribe the security agents. Nigeria’s envoy to Benin Republic noted same…..
