That is the display aspect ratio of the phone (vertical and horizontal effect of the screen) we have nothing like 12:9 but its 16:9 for old phone (phones before 2017) but in 2017 another aspect ratio of 18:9 was launched but some manufacturer still stick with 16:9, we are expecting 21:9 in most phone of 2018.
