About ten senators believed to be loyal to president muhammadu buhari who stood against the decision of the senate to alter the 2019 elections timetable as released by INEC may soon be suspended for a year by the Bukola Saraki-led national assembly.

The ten embattled senators include:

10. Benjamin Uwajimogu (Imo North)

Vanguard quotes a source in the Senate as revealing that the Senator Samuel Anyanwu, PDP, Imo East led Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions is set to meet this week on the matter, just as the source said that the 10 senators who opposed the bill could be placed on one year suspension.

Suanu’s Blog recalls that the embattled ten senators had on February 14 walked out on the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki while he was still presiding, and went straight to the Senate Press Corps Centre to address Journalists, expressing their reservations and vehemently kicked against the bill.

The angry senators had described the move by their colleagues not only as a trash, but a rush, self-serving and targeted at the President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid, adding that the amendment was carried out in very bad faith which will not stand.
All the senators are of the ruling APC; only Senator Ovie Omo- Agege has officially apologized to the red chamber although he was redirected to defend himself before the Ethics Committee.

Saraki is bent on disciplining any erring member in order to frustrate the rumoured plot to unseat him as the number 3 citizen of Nigeria.

I stand with Change in election timetable. These senators wants to rig there way to senate using federal might. If they are they are generally accepted by their various constituencies, they shouldn't be afraid of change in election timetable.

How many motions did each of these senators move in the last 3yrs? Are they in the Senate only to sleep and collect sitting allowance?

If they have not added any value to the Senate in the last 3yrs, going on a 1yr sabbatical won't make a difference.
