Why can't Nigerians understand Cameroon pidgin?
Re: Ask A Nigerian by okwabayi(m): 11:09pm On Sep 07, 2018
It's jumbled up compared to ours.
I had a Ghanaian friend once, a real bush boy. When he spoke Ghanaian pidgin for me I heard nothing whatsoever in it. The rhythm of his speech made me know he spoke a dialect I was familiar with but the grammatical structure was out of this world.
The other Ghanaians I knew spoke pidgin in ways Nigerians understood.
I'm not ready to try Cameroonian pidgin unless me or the speaker makes a compromise.
