Nwankwo Kanu has agreed to forego a new contract to keep playing for Portsmouth.

In Kanu's original Blues deal, the Nigerian would be due for a 12 month extension if he played one more game. But Pompey’s administrator, Andrew Andronikou, revealed: "I now expect everyone to be available from now until the end of the season.

"Kanu, being the gentleman and true professional he is, has come to an agreement with us and a compromise has been reached.

"These players want to represent this club and deserve credit for their willingness to compromise.
